Create Audience Segments in Contacts

You can set up audience segments to work for you automatically.

You've heard of audience segments in Campaign Refinery before. Still, you need more confidence about what these are used for or how to create these dynamic audiences for faster workflows that get the correct email to the right people faster than ever.

When creating broadcasts or looking to kick off an automated campaign for a specific section of your list, audience segments are a great way to quickly select the right people without having to think again about what the filters should or shouldn't be. Instead, you can trust your previous work and finish the task.

Audience segments are, in simple terms, a subset of your whole list that meets specific criteria that help you identify them as unique. This can be in the form of tags when they were created, how recently they engaged etc.

Let's get started!

  1. There are two (2) ways you can create an audience segment under Contacts.
    1. Option 1: Go to Contacts>Audience Segments in the panel menu on the left.
    2. Click on the '+Segment' at the upper right of the window.
    3. Upon clicking on '+Segment', you will be directed to the Contact Search page.
    4. Option 2: Select Contacts >Search Contacts in the panel menu on the left.
    5. You will be directed to the same Contact Search page (see previous image 1f).
  2. Select and fill in preferred filters. Click the Search button.
